We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We will post weekly family home evening videos and other ideas of how to have family home evenings in your home on our youtube channel. Materials for these Family Home Evenings will be listed here, just in case you would like to join along or use them in your own family home evenings. We have 6 young children, so you will see how family home evenings work out perfectly, and not so perfectly, but they are always worth it!

Use the outline, found on page 56 in the Come Follow Me For Individuals and Family Manual or Click Here to download and print one, to teach your family about the Plan of Salvation. For younger children, you may want to read the scriptures, listed on the outline, and summarize the key points of each set of scriptures (I’ve included my summary down below). Discuss how knowing the plan of Salvation can help us in our everyday lives.
Premortal
the devil was before Adam,
third part of the hosts of heaven turned he away from me because of their agency;
thus came the devil and his angels;
Creation and Fall
by the power of my Spirit created I them; yea, all things both spiritual and temporal—
my works have no end, neither beginning;
the devil tempted Adam, and he partook of the forbidden fruit and transgressed the commandment, wherein he became subject to the will of the devil, because he yielded unto temptation.
cast out from the Garden of Eden, from my presence, because of his transgression, wherein he became spiritually dead,
Mortal Life
devil should tempt the children of men, or they could not be agents unto themselves; for if they never should have bitter they could not know the sweet—
I, the Lord God, gave unto Adam and unto his seed, that they should not die as to the temporal death, until I, the Lord God, should send forth angels to declare unto them repentance and redemption, through faith on the name of mine Only Begotten Son.
I, the Lord God, appoint unto man the days of his probation—that by his natural death he might be raised in immortality unto eternal life, even as many as would believe;
they cannot be redeemed from their spiritual fall, because they repent not;
For they love darkness rather than light, and their deeds are evil, and they receive their wages of whom they list to obey.
Spirit World
Lord went not in person among the wicked and the disobedient who had rejected the truth, to teach them;
But behold, from among the righteous, he organized his forces and appointed messengers, clothed with power and authority, and commissioned them to go forth and carry the light of the gospel to them that were in darkness, even to all the spirits of men; and thus was the gospel preached to the dead.
messengers went forth to declare the acceptable day of the Lord and proclaim liberty to the captives who were bound, even unto all who would repent of their sins and receive the gospel.
died in their sins, without a knowledge of the truth, or in transgression, having rejected the prophets.
These were taught faith in God, repentance from sin, vicarious baptism for the remission of sins, the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands,
And all other principles of the gospel that were necessary for them to know in order to qualify themselves that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
Thus was it made known that our Redeemer spent his time during his sojourn in the world of spirits, instructing and preparing the faithful spirits of the prophets who had testified of him in the flesh;
That they might carry the message of redemption unto all the dead, unto whom he could not go personally, because of their rebellion and transgression, that they through the ministration of his servants might also hear his words.
Resurrection and Judgement
mine apostles shall stand at my right hand at the day of my coming in a pillar of fire, being clothed with robes of righteousness, with crowns upon their heads, in glory even as I am, to judge the whole house of Israel
trump shall sound both long and loud, even as upon Mount Sinai, and all the earth shall quake, and they shall come forth—yea, even the dead which died in me, to receive a crown of righteousness, and to be clothed upon, even as I am, to be with me, that we may be one.
Michael, mine archangel, shall sound his trump, and then shall all the dead awake, for their graves shall be opened, and they shall come forth—yea, even all.
And the righteous shall be gathered on my right hand unto eternal life; and the wicked on my left hand will I be ashamed to own before the Father;
Wherefore I will say unto them—Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

This lesson is one of my favorites, because it focuses on the Armor of God. With 5 boys, this is one of their favorites too!
Here is the lesson that corresponds with the Come Follow Me lesson for D&C 23-26. This lesson includes our version of the "Marshmallow Experiment." It discusses the topic of patience in afflictions.
